Somewhere this phrase slipped into our minds. On research apparently it's a game in the UK. In Australia, we would call the same game by the far more elegantly (*cough) named "Kick the Can". Now this phrase is often used as a humorous reference to being somewhere uninvited. God forbid. We are lucky we turn up even when we are invited! Anyhow, we digress.
